Last Friday’s jihadist assault on a Bangladeshi bakery resulting in the brutal deaths of at least 20 hostages and two police officers is the latest in a spate of lethal attacks commemorating the month-long Islamic holy season of Ramadan.

In their faith-based attack, the Islamist terrorists freed all the people who identified as Muslim and could prove it by reciting the Qur’an, while hacking to death the infidels present with machetes. Among the dead from Friday’s attack were nine Italians, seven Japanese, two Bangladeshis, one American and one Indian.

Just before Ramadan began, the Islamic State summoned Muslims to carry out terror attacks during what a group spokesman vowed would be “the month of conquest and jihad.”

A report issued by the U.S.-led Overseas Security Advisory Council warned that the ISIS threat could be credible because of the religious motivation to sacrifice oneself during this sacred time.

“According to Islamic practice, sacrifice during Ramadan can be considered more valuable than that made at other times, so a call to martyrdom during the month may hold a special allure to some,” the report stated.

Islam’s month of Ramadan began on June 5 this year and will finish on Tuesday evening. Muslims assert that it was during this month that Allah revealed the first verses of the Qur’an to Mohammed, on a night known as “The Night of Power.”

Since Ramadan began, jihadists have carried out targeted deadly attacks in Orlando,Afghanistan, Kenya, Lebanon, Istanbul, and now Bangladesh.

In the ISIS video calling for such attacks, spokesman Abu Mohammad al-Adnani urged Muslims to “get prepared, be ready … to make it a month of calamity everywhere for nonbelievers… especially for the fighters and supporters of the caliphate in Europe and America.”

Jihadist attacks during Ramadan are nothing new, and underscore the religious motivation for the carnage. During Ramadan 2015, for instance, Islamic jihadists carried out attacks in France, Syria, Kuwait, Syria, Somalia, and Tunisia.

Westerners are holding their collective breath as Muslims gear up for the final 24 hours of Ramadan 2016. A U.S. security expert is urging Americans to maintain vigilance during Monday’s Fourth of July celebrations.

The Independence Day holiday means that “there are attractive targets coming out during that period: You’ve got people getting together, you’ve got parades, you’ve got soft targets in [music] concerts,” explained Kyle Shideler, director of the Threat Information Office (TIO) at the Center for Security Policy.

The fact that there are “more potential targets” during the holiday makes it “attractive” to jihadists during Ramadan, he said.

#ISRAEL As 13-Year-Old GIRL Stabbed To Death In Her Bedroom By #MUSLIM SAVAGE !

By BI: A Palestinian MUSLIM terrorist fatally stabbed Hallel Yaffa Ariel, (photo right) a 13-year-old girl in her home in Judea-Samaria today before being shot dead by security guards. The army said the Muslim savage killed  in her bed after breaking into her home in Kiryat Arba, outside the city of Hebron.

CNN  Hallel Yaffa Ariel was sleeping when a Palestinian teenager entered the house in the settlement near Hebron and killed her, authorities said. The girl was a dual national of Israel and the United States.

 Security guards on the settlement entered the home and found the suspect still inside, the IDF said. During a fight, one security guard was stabbed, and the intruder was shot and killed.

“Just like any teenager on summer holiday, my daughter was asleep, calm, relaxed. A terrorist murderer came and murdered her in her bed,” her mother, Rena Ariel, told Israel’s Channel 2.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the attacker as Mohammed Tarayra, 17, from Bani Naim, a village east of Hebron.  In response to the attack, the IDF sealed off access to Bani Naim to everyone except humanitarian and medical workers.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the world to condemn the attack.  “The horrifying murder of a young girl in her bed underscores the bloodlust and inhumanity of the incitement-driven terrorists that we are facing. The entire nation deeply identifies with the family’s pain and declares to the murderers: You will not break us. We will continue to take strong and determined action against terrorism everywhere and at all times,” he said in a statement.

Netanyahu said he would revoke work permits for members of Tarayra’s family and has started the process of seeking approval to demolish Tarayra’s home, a not uncommon practice by Israeli authorities.

Sari Bashi, Israel-Palestine director of Human Rights Watch, said “the killing provides no legal justification for the Israeli government to punish the alleged attacker’s family members.”

Terror in America: What Happened Just Last Week

Last week Americans were charged or indicted in Islamist terror cases in three separate states: Arizonia, Massachusetts and Arkansas.

Massachusetts

Alexander Ciccolo, 23, who went by the name ofAli Al Amriki, was indicted for a plot to bomb a state university. His father, a Boston police captain, said his son -- a convert to Islam -- wanted to join the Islamic State.

Ciccolo also received four guns from a witness cooperating with the Western Massachusetts Joint Terrorism Task Force. Prosecutors say the witness spoke with Ciccolo about his plans, inspired by the Islamic State, to use improvised pressure cookers as bombs.

In recorded conversations, he said he was planning to fill the pressure cookers with nails, ball bearing and glass and set them off in a crowded place on campus – perhaps a cafeteria. Prosecutors also noted that Ciccolo was seen buying a pressure cooker similar to those used by the Boston bombers.

Ciccolo, who was arrested last July and held without bail, was charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and attempting to use weapons of mass destruction.

Arizona

An 18-year old Arizona man wasarrested on terrorism charges. Mahim Khan, from Tucson, stands accused by the FBI of plotting acts of terror against government buildings in two counties.

Other than announcing that Khan’s plans did not involve targeting Fourth of July activities, no other details were available. For the time being, the court records of Khan’s initial appearance have been sealed.

Khan lived with his family in a gated community  in north Tucson close to the Catlina Foothills.

Arkansas

A woman in Arkansas was indicted on first-degree terrorism threatening for making an online threat to kill another individual as well as the individual’s family with a firearm, a federal charge. 

Daphne Ann Crawford, 29, a convert to Islam who also goes by the name of Umm Ammara Khalid and was arrested along with her husband, Alan, also a convert. They were also found to be in possession of drugs and firearms, including three AR-15 assault rifles, a 12-gauge shotgun, six handguns and close to 2,000 rounds of ammunition, including 721 rounds for the assault rifles.

Events leading to the arrests unfolded after the Crawfords got into an argument at a restaurant with the staff. A customer posted a comment on Facebook about the incident to which Crawford replied by sending a picture of her husband dressed in Middle Eastern clothes and holding an assault rifle.

The picture was accompanied by a threat to shoot the customer and the customer’s family.

Last December, the couple made headlines when they were escorted out a mall for filming the entrances and exits to the mall. It is against the policy of the mall to video inside the premises. At the time, Alan Crawford told a local station, KFSM. "Co-exist. Spread love not hate," Crawford said. "This is what this world is about. Whether you are Christian, Jewish, atheist, I don't care. Spread love not hate. I don't care what religion you are. Killing someone for your religion is wrong, completely wrong."

The targets seem to have been Saudi security forces and Shi’ites: “In the only one of the three attacks that appeared to have caused many casualties, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb near the security headquarters of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam….In Qatif, an eastern city that is home to many members of the Shi’ite minority, at least one and possibly two explosions struck near a Shi’ite mosque.”

The Islamic State regards the Saudi regime as illegitimate. Targeting security forces in Medina is an audacious display of its reach.

RIYADH: Suicide bombers struck three cities across Saudi Arabia on Monday, in an apparently coordinated campaign of attacks as Saudis prepared to break their fast on the penultimate day of the holy month of Ramzan.

The explosions targeting US diplomats, Shi’ite worshippers and a security headquarters at a mosque in the holy city of Medina follow days of mass killings claimed by the Islamic State group, in Turkey, Bangladesh and Iraq. The attacks all seem to have been timed to coincide with the approach of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that celebrates the end of the fast.

A Saudi security official said an attacker parked a car near the US consulate in Jeddah before detonating the device. The official said the government was checking the reports of blasts in Qatif and Medina.

In the only one of the three attacks that appeared to have caused many casualties, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb near the security headquarters of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam.

Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television said an initial death toll from the Medina blast included three suicide bombers and two security forces officers.

A video sent to Reuters by a witness to the aftermath of the Medina bombing showed a large blaze among parked cars in the fading evening light, with a sound of sirens in the background. A picture sent to Reuters showed a burnt and bleeding man lying on a stretcher in a hospital.

Other pictures circulating on social media showed dark smoke billowing from flames near the mosque of the Prophet, originally built in the 7th century by the Prophet Muhammad, who is buried there along with his first two successors.

In Qatif, an eastern city that is home to many members of the Shi’ite minority, at least one and possibly two explosions struck near a Shi’ite mosque.

Witnesses described body parts, apparently of a suicide bomber, in the aftermath….

Hours earlier a suicide bomber was killed and two people were wounded in a blast near the US consulate in the kingdom’s second city Jeddah.

The Jeddah blast was the first bombing in years to attempt to target foreigners in the kingdom. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Islamic State has carried out a series of bombing and shooting attacks in Saudi Arabia since mid-2014 that have killed scores of people, mostly members of the Shi’ite Muslim minority and security services….

Remember the story about the London, Ontario woman accused of a ‘hate crime’ for allegedly spitting on a Muslim woman, punching her, and pulling off her headbag?

That’s right, you haven’t heard anything about it since the initial media ‘Islamophobia’ frenzy because (wait for it) the attacker turned out to be a Muslim woman from Iran.

The Rebel  (h/t Liz) When police in London identified and charged the suspect, they only charged her with common assault—not anything “hate” motivated.

More curiously, they refused to name her, which is a stark departure from their usual practices, through which the names of anyone charged are released to the media. Even when asked by media outlets, police were tight-lipped.

The accused is 38-year old Sheila Shaidaie of London. We don’t yet know her motivations for the alleged assault, but we do know one thing: When she appeared in court, she had a Farsi interpreter.

NOT AMERICAN? Donald Trump’s remarks on Muslims’ inability or lack of desire to assimilate astounds some Muslims

But why should it? Just look at the photos of these so-called “American Muslims” included in this story and you’ll see why Trump is exactly right.

SF Chronicle  Under the hood of a gray Giants sweatshirt, 11-year-old Ilyaas Mubarez was absorbed in his iPhone as his family members talked about their identity as Muslim Americans.

But when his 14-year-old sister began to talk about how she felt when presidential candidate Donald Trump questioned whether Muslims could blend into American culture, Ilyaas looked up, baffled. “This is my place,” he said confidently. “I’ve been here my whole life.” (Living in America doesn’t make you American)

His sister, Hanan Mubarez, seated next to him in a tiny San Leandro mosque, quickly echoed his statement: “Yeah, I don’t feel the need to assimilate because it’s already a part of me. I was born and raised here.” (But you do your best to make it look like you just got off the boat)

In conversations laced with both astonishment and concern, Muslims in the Bay Area and beyond have been coming to grips with accusations — most notably by Trump — that they aren’t assimilating, or becoming fully part of U.S. society.

Two days after the mass shooting in Orlando that killed 49 people, Trump responded to a question about screening U.S. immigrants of Muslim faith by saying, “Assimilation has been very hard.

“It’s almost — I won’t say nonexistent, but it gets to be pretty close,” Trump said. “And I’m talking about second- and third-generation. They come — they don’t — for some reason, there’s no real assimilation.”

Trump did not say how he defines assimilation, or how he came to his view, but the concept is powerful, calling into question whether Muslims can ever be truly considered American. The implication is that Muslim immigrants cling unnaturally to the places they or their families left behind, and are therefore dangerous.

“We have to decide as a country: What does it mean to be an American? Is it a set of ideas and values or is it a cultural, ethnic background and specific religion?” said Dalia Mogahed, head of research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, a think tank in Washington that seeks to empower American Muslims. “Muslims will never be insiders if the cost of membership is to be white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant.”  (How about trying to be a little less Muslim?)

Trump has said the government should ban Muslim immigrants, and that law enforcement should consider profiling Muslims already in the country. By singling out Muslims, Trump is playing to supporters who are anti-immigrant, even though many Muslims are U.S.-born, said John Esposito, a Georgetown professor who founded the university’s Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding.

“If you believe Muslims aren’t integrated, then you’ve got the rationale” for these policies, Esposito said.(That’s right, you aren’t)

“It’s a false and problematic standard,” said Shadi Hamid, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and author of the recently published “Islamic Exceptionalism: How the Struggle Over Islam is Reshaping the World.”

To Hamid, assimilation signifies giving up traditions, heritage and language, but that’s never been the American model. Instead, he said, the country has allowed immigrants to integrate and be fully American without giving up their traditions or language. (But Muslims try to force their traditions, foods, and religious demands on everyone else, then sue if they don’t get their way. THAT’S the problem!)

These days, Hanan Mubarez also feels the sting of Trump’s comments. “I feel harassed,” she said. “He doesn’t have a right to say things like that. He’s talking about my culture.”

Jehan Hakim, who is a panelist at regular “Meet a Muslim” events in the Bay Area that seek to break down stereotypes about her community, said she has a simple solution to quieting the provocative talk about assimilation.

“I think if people met a Muslim, they’ll know that Muslims are American,” she said, “and that what Trump is saying is so un-American.” (We know Muslims which is why we know they are NOT American and never will be as long as they follow Islam)
